Dr Chivers is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in arthroplasty (Hip and
Knee replacements) and trauma.
Dr Chivers completed his specialist orthopaedic training at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital.
After his training, he did a fellowship at Cape Hip and Knee under the guidance renowned South African hip and knee surgeons. Here he gained significant experience in treating all hip and knee related conditions.
Dr Chivers is currently a sessional consultant at Port Shepstone Hospital Department of Orthopaedics.
Dr Chivers has significant experience and performs over 120 joint replacements per year. He is involved in an arthroplasty training centre at the Port Shepstone hospital, where he keeps up to date with the latest procedures and techniques.
He is also extensively involved in orthopaedic research and is an honorary lecturer at the University of UKZN.
