Dr Steyn Van Wyk

Dr Steyn van Wyk finished his pre-graduate studies at the University of Pretoria with a degree: MB.CH.B.

Postgraduate studies commenced in 1980 and the degree M.Med Surgery was awarded in 1985 at the University of Pretoria.

Private practice as a General Surgeon commenced in Pretoria in 1986.

Dr van Wyk was offered a sessional post at the University of Pretoria as a Consultant Vascular Surgery, a post held until 2000. During the same period, Dr van Wyk was appointed as a sessional post at the Military Hospital as Consultant General Surgeon.

Dr van Wyk is a member of:

• VASSA – Vascular Association of South Africa
• SASES – South African Society of Endoscopic Surgeons and
• SAMA – South African Medical Association

Various congresses and workshops have been attended over the years both local and overseas.

Dr van Wyk is currently Consultant General Surgeon at Port Shepstone Regional Hospital, Honorary Lecturer at the Medical School, University of KwaZulu Natal.

Dr van Wyk will have a private practice at Shelly Beach Hospital’s consulting rooms.
