Dr Bikita started his professional journey in the year 2000 when he enrolled at the University of Zimbabwe Medical School where he obtained his MBChB degree in 2005.
He then qualified as a Specialist Physician at Pietersburg/Mankweng Hospital Complex in Limpopo in October 2017 and briefly worked as a general physician at Rustenburg Provincial hospital until Sept 2018. In October 2018 he started Sub Specialty training in Cardiology at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital under the auspice of University of KwaZulu Natal and graduated with a Sub Specialty Certificate in Cardiology in July 2022.
Upon his certification as a Cardiologist, Dr Bikita then worked at Greys Provincial Hospital in Pietermaritzburg as the only full-time cardiologist where he provided invasive and non-invasive specialist cardiac services to that greater part of KZN province. Dr Bikita is passionate about patient care and has a pleasant personality that relates very well with his patients.
Throughout his career Dr Bikita has gained substantial experience in the management of
Ischaemic heart disease
Invasive management of coronary artery disease inc percutaneous coronary intervention
Cardiac arrhythmias and device implantation
Heart failure
Valvular heart disease.
He has a special interest in heart failure, cardiac imaging and coronary artery disease intervention.
