Dr Louw obtained his first medical degree in 1987. He qualified as a Specialist Anaesthetist in 1995.
From 1996 until the present date he has been practicing as a Specialist Anaesthetist on the South Coast in the practice of Drs Basson and Louw Anaesthetists.
Whilst in private practice he did further courses in Diving Medicine and obtained the Postgraduate Diploma in Procedural Sedation.
